Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNO) : Police refuted reports of SADO (Search and Destroy Operation) in South Kashmir’s Shopian as per police statement Post Imamsahab received a written complaint from one Mohammad Shafi Ganai of Urpora Nagbal stating threin that some unknown persons have cut off his apple and walnut trees which has caused him loss.
Accordingly FIR no 44/2018 u/s 436A, 427 RPC, 13 Prevention of J&K Specified Trees Act stands registered and investigation taken up. During investigation the wood was seized and given on supardnama to one Mohd Shafi Bhat who resides in the neighbourhood of the said orchard. Investigation into the case is going on.
However reports circulating in some sections of media regarding cutting of trees under police cordon are hereby denied.(KNO)
